Dental Sealants Do Not Pose
Risk to Patients
A study published in the Journal of the American Dental
Association reports that patients are not exposed to
harmful levels of estrogenic substances such as bisphenol
A through the application of dental sealants, generally
used to protect children's teeth from decay.
An earlier study published by researchers at the University
of Granada in Spain had suggested that dental sealants
could pose a health risk to children.
For more information on the study and its findings,
please refer to an American
Dental Association press release and a Reuters article.
